Hello! I’m Elizabeth Birkholz, pastor at King of Kings. This year I will celebrate 24 years of ordination, and it’s been a journey that has led me to some unexpected places. I have served in ELCA congregations in the metro Atlanta area and in metro Detroit, and have worked in development for Samaritas (the former Lutheran Social Services of Michigan). I am married to another Lutheran pastor and have two adult children (plus a dog and a cat).

I’m also a trained and certified yoga therapist. I have enjoyed working with people who have traumatic brain injuries, autism, anxiety, and generally anyone who wants to feel a little better in their body, mind, and spirit. I also teach paddleboard yoga in the summer in Pinckney, which is super fun, a bit of hard work, and surprisingly beginner-friendly (those are also my highest hopes for the church!).
